For a long time, Disney has been the best entertainment channel for young children because of its new characters, stories, and innovative vibe. However, in recent years it seems Disney just can’t get their old formula for making shows and movies, so they just remake movies, or make overly politicized children’s movies. Disney has always defined generations, but in recent years, some fans and critics are beginning to ask, Is Disney losing their magic?
One of the main criticisms that Disney has been receiving recently is that they don’t make any new movies but instead just make live-action remakes of old classics, and usually, the remakes aren’t good. They’ve released around 17-22 remake movies and a few new movies, but their new movies just don’t have the same commercial success they used to, and they’re boring. For example, Wish, the songs in this movie aren’t Disney quality and the concept for this movie is generic.
Disney also gets criticized because they’ve started overly politicizing their children’s tv shows and movies by adding subliminal messaging. This made a lot of parents question letting their kids watch Disney. It also made fans see Disney as just another big corporation trying to push an agenda rather than the household name it once held.
Disney is also known for following the same repetitive formula to make many shows. It relies heavily on predictable tropes and familiar character types in recent years. Instead of creating new, engaging stories, Disney is pushing out movies and shows that follow a set pattern, resulting in a lack of surprises for audiences.
Disney shows aren’t the only problem, they also have many problems in Disneyland, like the long lines that give people the chance to ride 5-10 rides in a whole day at Disneyland. Disneyland has also become expensive, so many children can’t go to the place that used to be the vacation most families went on during summer break. Many visitors have also reported feeling that Disney cast members are less attentive or less friendly than in the past.
Overall, despite Disney constantly having problems, they still have their classic movies and shows, so they just need a stream of constant success to get back the magic that they “lost” throughout the years.
