Fashion has jumped right into the spring 2025 season. So far, there is a ready-to-wear collection out. Couture is not out yet! There is a significant difference between the two. Ready-to-wear collections are clothing items that are mass produced and ready to be sold and worn. Couture, on the other hand, is custom made and exclusive.
Some of the highlights of this year’s ready-to-wear collections are Carolina Herrera, Ralph Lauren, and Tory Burch.
Despite it being a spring collection, Tory Burch has a very fall-themed vibe to it. The main color palette includes brown, navy, and burgundy. There are a lot of patterns and textures in this collection. There are some stripes, polka dots, ruffles, and bows. There is also a flame kind of pattern featured in 3 of their pieces. My personal favorite piece from this collection includes a navy dress that sort of looks like a coat. It is tied together on the side by two bows, with a cut out on the side. There is a fold over at the neck of the piece. The sleeves are cuffed, and the bottom is unevenly cut, with the back slanted and longer. It is a beautiful dress. It is paired with these dark brown heels with the toe out.
Carolina Herrera starts the collection off with a stunning black and white dress, black and white being the only colors in the collection (so far!). It has a black, slick bottom and a white top with a huge, black flower covering it. This collection was all black and white, until suddenly there was a pop of pink! Along with pink, there was red and yellow. There are mainly polka dots and florals in this collection. Some pieces combine the two of them. Overall, this collection also gives off a fall/winter vibe to it, up until the colored pieces walked on. The first pink piece is a mini-A-line dress with a huge flower as the top. It is one of my favorites of the piece. One of the red pieces included an A-line dress that is fluffy tulle. The top is beaded. It is a stunning dress.
Ralph Lauren has a whopping 104 looks! The women’s part of the collection has a very beachy, bohemian vibe to some of their pieces. The men’s collection has an old-money, timeless look to it. The main colors of both are blue, navy, tan, and white. There are even some children’s looks! They match the overall vibes of the rest of the collection. My favorite piece from this collection is an ombre blue maxi dress that has sequins. It is strapless. It is a stunning dress. Overall, I’d rate this collection a 7/10.
Coming up is NYFW, fashion’s biggest week of the year. But the spring season is up there on the list! These were only a few of the many collections that have come out so far, but they are some of the best. I can’t wait to see what else fashion has in store for us!
